The World's Largest Hollow Log

The Last Malarkey Giant was registered with Ripley’s Believe It Or Not on September 11, 1987. A courageous survivor of the once great Malarkey Forest north of Crescent City, CA, the log was too big to move intact from where it fell. Not accessible to those who would appreciate its majesty and heritage, Randy Otremba, a local logger, made it his personal mission to rescue the fallen Giant. He split the log lengthwise into four sections that can now be transported and, with proper engineering and reinforcement, reassembled for public display.

This one-of-a kind wonder of nature was recently the subject of a documentary by KBSC-TV in Brookings, Oregon for an episode of “That’s Amazing!”

The Last Malarkey Giant is currently stored in Del Norte County, CA, and For Sale.
